For a sinus-surgery second opinion, records and actual images are reviewed before scheduling.
At your appointment
Your visit starts with the history and examination. Depending on your concern, you may see Dr. Fewins, Jennifer Booker, NP, or Kim Miller for audiology. Jennifer’s patients are reviewed with Dr. Fewins, who directs the practice’s clinical care and surgical decisions.
The first visit may establish a treatment plan or identify the next test needed. Ask what the working diagnosis is, what the treatment aims to improve and when the response will be reviewed.
Tests and results
Allergy and hearing results can often be reviewed during the testing visit. CT scans are commonly discussed at follow-up so Dr. Fewins can show you the images and explain the findings. A phone or virtual discussion may be suitable for selected straightforward results.
Before you leave, know how results will reach you and whether another appointment is needed. If that plan is unclear, call the office.
If a procedure is recommended
You will discuss what the treatment can improve, alternatives, risks and expected recovery. Our team reviews insurance requirements and helps coordinate scheduling. Coverage and out-of-pocket costs depend on your plan; authorization is not a guarantee of payment.
Follow the instructions issued for your actual procedure, including medication adjustments, fasting and transportation. Tell the team about blood thinners and other important medicines; do not change them on your own.
Recovery and follow-up
Your recovery plan depends on the procedure and your health. Written surgical instructions take priority over general information on this website.
Sinus surgery
Expect early congestion, some blood-tinged drainage and follow-up visits. Cleaning or debridement may help assess healing and keep openings clear. Saline rinses and prescribed topical treatment are often important.
